Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (IATA: SHA; Chinese: 上海虹桥国际机场) is the main domestic airport serving Shanghai, with limited international flights. It is located near the town of Hongqiao in Changning District, 13 km west of downtown, and is closer to the city center than Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG). It is the hub for China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines.
Two Terminals
Terminal 1 is now exclusively for international flights by foreign airlines and domestic airlines and for Spring Airlines. Terminal 2 is open into public use on March 16, 2010, which is a support to Shanghai Expo. It is 3 times larger than the original Terminal 1 and houses 90% of all airlines at the airport.
Free shuttle runs between Terminal 1 (Gate 6, Departure Hall) and Termianl 2 (Gate 1, Arrival Hall). They run every 5-15 minutes from 06:30-23:00 and it takes 15 minutes between the two terminals.
Ground Transportation
By Metro Line
Both terminals are served by Shanghai metro network: Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station: Line 2, Line 10; Hongqiao Airport Terminal 1 Station: Line 10.
By High-speed Railway
Terminal 2 of the Hongqiao Airport is immediately adjacent to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, a major train hub served by the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway, the Shanghai–Hangzhou High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai–Nanjing Intercity High-Speed Railway.
By Airport Buses
There are 22 bus routes conncecting the airport with the city. Termainal 1: Line 806, 807, 938, 1207. Terminal 2: Line 941, 173; Shuniu Line 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10; 316 (night line), 320 (night line).
By Taxi
The taxi fare from Hongqiao International Airport to People’s Square in the city center is approximately CNY60 and it takes about half an hour.
